    Hey people!

    Just wanted to see peoples opinion on gaming on a Mac and what games are maybe available for free or just games that run well that aren't that well heard of.

    On my MacBook i can play;

    Italics = Steam Game

    Halo
    COD 6 There are ways... without bootcamp/crossover/vmware
    COD 4
    COD 2
    Need For Speed
    Spore
    Counter Strike 1.6
    Counter Strike: Source
    Half-Life 2 (Episode 1/2)
    Portal

    Urban Terror
    Nexuiz
    Saurbraten (Cube 2)

    I use my wired xbox 360 controller to play about half my games and a magic mouse & keyboard for the rest!

    Also, is gaming better on a PC or a Mac?

    Your opinion, no fan-boys allowed...

    Macs can game well just like PC's can, but you really need bootcamp on your mac in order to get the most games/highest speeds. A lot of games used on macs are crossover/wine ports, not all, but a lot are. This can decrease performance, and with bootcamp you get a lot more selection. Pretty much all of the current gen Macs have good graphic cards and will run games smoothly. PC's do have an advantage over expandability and upgrading features, but even then the Mac Pro tower is quite expandable/upgradable. And as for games go on a Mac, bootcamp is a necessity if you want the most game titles and best performance. There are some good games on OS X, but it isn't ideal for most gamers.

    I got Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 to run without using crossover/wine/bootcamp/vmware , it runs natively!

    I don't play games on my Mac, because I don't use my Macbook on a table so it'd be kind of hard lol. I just stick to games on my PC.

    That aside, its been proven that Steam games on Mac run smoother than Steam games on a PC with similar hardware.
