    Hello,

Out of all the threads and different replies in this forum does any one have a work around for this? Yes I am aware that the 2 programs in Cydia + ifconfig do not change the address. Mac addresses are not set in stone, and I have root level access on my device so its got to be a bug that has not been addressd yet? I cant see why Apple would block this, and with root level privileges their has to be some config for this?

    Thanks.

I very much wish this issue could be resolved as well. It has to be something with the root access. I have tried allot of different configuration of this and nothing seems to work!!!!!! SO FREAKIN FRUSTRATING

There's no way you are seriously asking that.

A work around for what? Are you trying to change your MAC address? The only reason I can think of to do this is to hack into someones network.

If this is what you are doing then shame on you.

If not, I would be interested in knowing a legitimate reason for changing your MAC address. Here's looking forward to enlightenment.

For those who do not know, MAC filtering on your router is very weak protection. use WPA2 (not WEP) authentication with a good password. Don't give jerks an opening.

Maybe he want to connect to a public wifi and maintain his privacy... perfectly reasonable.

Your mac address is unique so everything you do under that mac can in theory be traced back to you. Would only ever come up under an investigation but still valid.. everyone has a right to privacy.
