    Hey guys, a few days ago I updated to firmware 3.1.3 (3.1.2 before)

    When i used free up memory in sbsettings (3.1.2) i had ~70-80 mb

    Now on 3.1.3 i get max. 50
    and i have to free up the memory 5 times
    the first it stays on ~30 :S

    Anyone know what causes this? I want my 80 mb back

    you had 70-80 mb on 3.1.2?!?! i only can manage get high 50s low 60s.

    my ram didn't change when i upgraded from 3.0 either.

    my guess (this may sound farfetched) is that the 3.1.2 jailbreak isn't as "optimised", as in the jailbreak tool only just came out and there is more system software for the jailbreak to patch in order for the jailbreak to work, if you get what i mean.

    here's an analogy of what i mean. 3.1.2 is like a police officer, a few well aimed shots from a pistol should take him down. 3.1.3 is like a member of a SWAT team and you need a heavy machinegun to mow him down.

    note, killing the cop is the jailbreak and the guns are a reference to much more resources is required to jailbreak in order for it to be successful.

    everytime i use free up memory in sbsettings the following happens:

    1) 15 mb -> 20 mb
    2) 20 mb -> 25 mb
    3) 25 mb -> 30 mb
    4) 30 mb -> 35 mb
    5) 35 mb -> 40 mb
    6) 40 mb -> springboard crash and 30 mb
