I got my iPod touch about a week ago free from TraInn. Well, the process was a little more hassle and time, but I figured the end result would be very satisfying. Anyway, I've been using it for a week, and I was quite disappointed that even the calendar didn't even have add event. The apps were a little bland, and I'm very upset the Safari web browser can't view flash. So I googled around a bit and found this forum.

So here's my question - How risky/difficult is it to add apps like Google Maps and others? Also, will it break the warranty?

You need to jailbreak to add apps. Do a search on this site for details.

Apple doesn't seem to like jailbreaking the iPod so it may impact your warranty. Risk seems to be minimal but you definitely need to know what you're doing or you run the risk of bricking the Touch.
