This is probably a really easy fix, and it's primarily my fault that I didn't prepare better. Basically I was using the great Categories app, which, as some of you know, lets me organize my icons into folders. When I updated to firmware to 3.0 today, I lost all the icons to my Cydia apps. I was originally just going to reinstall them, hoping the settings would all still be there. The problem though is that Cydia was in a folder Category, so now I can't access it. Is this as easy as just SSHing into the Applications folder and copying the apps back? And if so, while all the app settings remain?

Thanks. And yes, I've done a search for "Cydia," among other things, with no results.

    try this,

    go into setting>general>restrictions

enable the restrictions, setting a password that you will remember. Restart your ipod and then go back in and disable restrictions. Your icons should be back

    Worked like charm for me

Unfortunately, my Settings icon was in a folder as well, so it's hidden as well.

ouch. that really, really sucks. trying finding categories online and sshing it into your ipod. If that doesn't work then the only thing you can do is restore... sorry man

Use an app that allows you to browse your iPod over USB such as DiskAid (Mac) or iPhoneBrowser (Windows). There is really no reason to SSH into your iPod anymore. It's slow and outdated.
