I just recovered my HP Pavillion with the automatic HP Recovery so I lost all the music I had on my computer... all that music is in my iPod. Thing is: I can't copy that music back to my PC with iTunes and I really wanna do it 'cause I have firmware 1.1.3 and ocasionally will upgrade and loose all my data!

Is there any way to make iTunes belive that my computer hasn't been restored so IT'S THE SAME COMPUTER where the iPod was originally registered?

    Thx for your help!

Dude you should have backed up your iTunes library. That happened to me once except that I recovered my Dell pc instead. The music and videos were able to copy over on mine but I wasent able to play them on my computer unless I Authorize the account.

Either that, or a free program called iDump. Accesses your iPod and lets you put the songs back on your computer.

iDump does not handle iTouch & iPhone. Most don't.

Total Commander. If it doesn't work I think you gotta install the SUID fix off Installer. TC lets you connect to your ipod through USB. MUCH FASTER THAN SSH!!
