I just got my 32 gig 2nd gen touch and eventually I noticed that the all black area around the screen was loose. Whenever I push on it it makes a faint squish sound and looks like it moves downward. Right now it's really bugging me and I am considering exchanging it for a new one. Is this a common problem, or is it even a problem? Are all of them like this? Or is it so minimal that I should just forget about it? Some feedback would be appreciated

Not an issue on mine. I would get a replacement just to be safe. You never know what else might not be right.

I would replace it as well.
What if it starts coming really loose and stuff is moving all around or whatever.

    There is no spoon.
Yes, take it back. Not long ago someone had a loose side, gave it a press and it went back into place but yours sounds more serious and plus this way it's their problem not yours. Yes, it's a pain to return but you spent a lot of money on it. Back it up so you can restore your stuff, then take it back.

My ipod has had a loose side also (left down side). By pressing at it was like the home button was pressed. BUT pressing at home button had no effect. Home button or something else was damaged. Apps going closed after random time (after 2..20 seconds was the home screen back). It was impossible to do something with my Ipod for longer time. No apps, no music.

The Final of the story: Aplle has changed my ipod with a new one

. I'll take it to the local Apple store tomorrow, I wonder if they replace it considering that I bought in in another country.
