I've been looking for a dock (NON-Apple) that will charge the iPod and plug into to a stereo.
Anyone know of a good source?
    Thanks.

Check out logitech docks. I have one called the logitech pure-fi anywhere that i payed 300 for (NZ money not sure about US) but it works great and most of their docks have a thin that you can connect one of those male to male connectors so you can hook it to your stereo it also has 10 hrs of battery life after you charge it and a wireless remote, its pretty sweet

Thanks, but that's a bit too pricey for me. I was hoping to find something compatible that would cost less than the Apple accessories.

    The search continues.

I just ordered this universal dock.

    I think it's a good deal.

This so-called "universal dock" is being returned. It did not work although their site said it did.

All I want is a dock that will... 1) Charge my iPod and 2) Have audio out to connect to a stereo. It seems as though the newer iPods are no longer compatible with 3rd party docks. Looks like I'm stuck spending $50 on an Apple dock. Damn!
