Above anything else, I want to buy something not used or refurbed, and "new" Touchpad doesn't exist.

Why? A Referb is better than a new one as it has all been checked and tested...

What's wrong with a refurb iPad 2 or Touchpad?

Neither are Android (all custom ROMs aside) and I was looking for a change of pace from iOS that's still officially supported and thriving.

Have you looked at the Transformer Infinity (I think its the TF505)? From what i've heard, thats pretty good. Also, the XOOM is on sale for $350 every once in a while at 1SaleADay, which is a great deal. Today, they have the Iconia for $219, so take a look

One of the huge advantages of having Android is to install custom rome. CM9 is amazing on the Touchpad.

The price tag on the Infinity is a bit steep, as does the standard XOOM. And I don't think I'm going to buy today.
