    Attention anyone who still has version 1.1 still running on their iPod Touchs, I've got a small request. If you have a way to access it, via SFTP, or AFP with Bonjour, I need one small file. It is located here: System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

    I'm compiling some info based on what's in this file. For example, the version of this file found in the 1.1.1 firmware looks like this:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>BasedOn</key>
    <string>Tahoe3A100</string>
    <key>ProductBuildVersion</key>
    <string>3A109a</string>
    <key>ProductCopyright</key>
    <string>1983-2007 Apple Inc.</string>
    <key>ProductName</key>
    <string>OS X</string>
    <key>ProductVersion</key>
    <string>1.1.1</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    I'm mainly trying to record the different versions of "Tahoe". It looks like "Tahoe" is the MobileOS X equivalent to Darwine. Up until version 1.1.2, the versions of "Tahoe" were different for the iPhone & the iPod Touch. I would try & get this file myself but, this is the one version of the firmware that a decryption key has not been found for. If someone could help me with this, that'd be awesome

    I'm not exactly sure if this is what your looking for, but: http://www.box.net/shared/lzgufp2ckg
    I am still running 1.1.1 on my iPod Touch, so I am quite confident this is the file your looking for. PM me if you need something else.

    I could be wrong but, look at this MacRumors thread. The posters make it sound like that they were originally running 1.1 and then the 1.1.1 update came & were able to restore to the previous version. I think that's what that topic is about

    Actually, yes you can put it on your iPod. I got mine on the 21st of december and it was on FW 1.1. I even accidentally downgraded to it once. Thats the firmware that the iPhone was on for a looong time. In fact, I remember upgrading to 1.1.1 and reading about how that bricked the iPhone. Jailbreaking wasn't out yet for the touch on 1.1.
