I looked through many posts and could only find ones that had ways to change/get rid of the "slide to unlock text" which is very basic. i was wondering however, if there is a way to "kill" the lockscreen all together...

although its really not THAT much of a hastle, on occassion, we all wish we could just open our ipod and skip the lockscreen.

    so, i was wondering
    ----1. is it possible.
----2. if it is possible, is there a mod already out there

    Nope.

But you can get a clear tap to unlock theme & use no password. Very close to what you are talking about...

Don't lock your iPod then. And turn off autolock.

Also if you didnt have a lockscreen thing or passcode it would be very easy for a thief to use

Exactly! I use a Mac Tap to Unlock and I'm so used to swiping I forget that I just have to tap.
