So, trying to change the lock screen font, i took a .tff font, renamed it 'LockClock', renamed the original 'LockClock2' to keep it around, and ssh'd the new font into library/system/fonts/cache. End the winscp session, turn off the ipod, turn back on, and it goes to the springboard. Sleep mode, back on, and it goes black with the loading spinner for like 10 minutes, then restarts in safe mode saying springboard crashed...am i doing something wrong? i undid the font changes and it works fine. Are some fonts incompatible? thanks...

Yeah, you did everything wrong. You can't use any font for your iPod touch. You have to port it. Then replace it. You are going to have to SSH into that directory and rename the LockClock2 back to LockClock. In order to get it to work. If you want a font to be ported I can do it. It won't take long to do. And I can guarantee it will work.
