I was trying to create a Pokémon theme for winterboard and managed to create a working and quite cool-looking (if I may say so myself) lock screen and wallpaper. I attempted to modify the lock screen battery indicator (shown when iPod is charging) by using the Stargate Atlantis theme as a template and replacing the images with my own. The only problem is that those images were 267x129 and mine are the full 320x480 iPod screen size. It would seem as though the iPod puts the Atlantis images in the center of the screen. But, unfortunately, it did the same with mine and put the top left corner of my images in the same position as the top-left corner of the old one. This means that the screen looks all daft. My idea was to put a pokéball in the center of the screen, but I need it bigger than 267x129 will allow for. Is there a way to tell Winterboard to display the image to fill the whole screen instead of starting half way down and a centimeter or two in from the left?

The first image is the picture and the second is how it looks...any advice?

    resize your images, obviously

shrink it down to either the 267 OR the 129, whichever comes first, and go from there

i was gonna play with it for you but the original that you posted is only 100 X 165

The images are only thumbnails, you can click them to view them in full. And as I explained on the post I can't resize them because it has to be larger than 267x129 size to look good and fit in with the theme's normal lock screen image

I'll upload that image too tomorrow and see what you guys make of it.

    EDIT -

    Here it is

Surely there's a way to tell Winterboard to start from the top left corner like it does with everything else?

well for your "locked NOT charging" call it LockBackground.png in the root of your theme and size it to the full 320X480 and that will serve as your unplugged lockscreen

as for the charging screen what do you want to do? is there an animation as the battery charges?

those filse are listed as 1-17 in this folder

    /var/stash/Themes.XXXXXX/Your Theme.theme/Folders/SpringBoard.app/BatteryBG_1.png

    etc.

    here, work off of this...

Fantastic, thanks, but why is it reflected?

I'll try and resize all the others to match it anyways

what are you going to do for animation? ie: how will you know how charged it is as it fills up?

you could do something like this (just a quick mock-up)

I was just going to use the Low, Medium, and High on the left side of the pokeball, as a wipe animation makes it look less like a device and more like just a picture. There's not much need for a more detailed battery status as most people with jailbroken iPods have a numeric battery indicator on their statusbar anyway

fair enough, but you could come up with something more cool than a wipe, right?

my batt goes like this, made it myself

if you aren't going to animate, don't bother resizing to match it.

instead just open in you photo editor and "save as" 16 times

    2, 3, 4, etc

then just edit your low, medium, full text

you gunna go with yellow for medium, green for full?

That's what I did, but the pokeball now looks to small on the screen for the text to be readable

I guess I'll have to wait until someone works out a way to use a larger image
