Hey folks sorry if this has been asked on the forum before but I was wondering what the local root password for the Ipod 1.1.4 is? I tried alpine but for some strange reason that only works when I ssh into my Ipod. When I try and change the password in the ssh session it just bricks on me and I have to reinstall the whole thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Changing that password is a bad idea and it tells you so when you install BSD Subsystem

Changing the password on 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 is nonfunctional, but shouldn't be a problem, just turn off SSH when you're not using it.

    I figured

I used ZiPhone to jailbreak my ipod and BSD subsystem was already installed on it. I just applied the 2.0 termfix.

PS: I just would like to use ping and other programs that requre local root. Just wondering if anyone know of a way to fix/bypass the password problem?

    Peace
