Are there any big companies in the UK that sell Desktops/Laptops, with No OS or Linux installed?
I'm in the US but I would guess no one, you would have to wipe the conmputer off or install Linux yourself.
Some netbooks come with Linux, but you'd be much better of getting one with XP or Win7 and wiping it.
Dell used to sell a few Ubuntu PCs on their online store but I believe they discontinued most of them. Either way, I would just buy a good spec Windows computer and wipe it or dualboot with Linux.
Or just go get ubuntu (only the best linux + gui out their) and make your current computer dual boot.
Dell currently ships some laptops with Ubuntu, if you order them online and choose.
Also I believe some of their mini's have that choice too.
Y buy a laptop with ubuntu all ready installed? Ubuntu is an open source os and you can just go download it at their site and dual boot with your current computer.
or use it for your main os.
Cause some of us don't like Windows at all and it cuts steps out.
Plus I am out of DVD's and don't feel like spending money on it.
It is all about personal preferences, not what you think is better.
Sure I get every Ubuntu disc sent to me in mail cause it is free, but doesn't mean I can't already have it installed on a new laptop.
Okay what I don't get is you want to buy a computer with no OS installed? Installing Linux on that is just as much work as installing it on a computer with windows installed.
