Can someone give me a direct link to download the guitarist app?

...and, lol, instead of me having to ask for links every time now (since my installer broke), is there some website that has a bunch of apps you can download online?

To get hold of my apps (including Guitarist), and indeed any from MMiF and iPTF:-

    1) Download these XML files (these are basically what defines the repositories)
    http://modmyifone.com/installer.xml
    http://www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml

    2) Search for the name of the app

    3) Grab out the URL to the Zip:-
    <key>location</key>
    <string>http://installerpackages.com/Guitarist-1.0.zip</string>

    4) Download that Zip

    5) The <key>install</key> bit of the XML will tell you where to unpack to. Also, for my apps I usually include a "readme.txt" in the Zip that tells you how to manually install.

    Hope that helps!

    Actually, there is one issue.

When I open up guitarist, it gives an installation error:

"Missing graphic files for the following guitar:
    /var/root/media/MooCowMusic/Guitarist/Guitars/.DS_Store"

I've put the .DS_Store thing in guitars folder (are you supposed to create a folder named Guitars? That's what I did), along with the folder containing the default guitar, but it still gives the error message...

I'm presuming that you just used the Zip from x6blues, who zipped it up on a Mac? Or that you own a Mac and used that to unzip the app?

Well it turns out that Macs tend to dump all sorts of . files everywhere when you unzip/zip. Who'd have thought it. Guitarist was developed on a PC which doesn't create random . files for you all the time, so the app expects the unzipped files to match the ones contained in the zip, which work.

So your problem, anyway, is that Guitarist has found a folder called .DS_Store and it thinks (because of the location) that it is a guitar graphics folder, but it doesn't contain the correct files. Consequently it's telling you there was an installation error.

Your solution is to delete all those . folders that are strewn over your iPod. And to buy a proper computer.

I can say that now as tomorrow I return my MacBook and get stung by the Apple £60 "try for 2 weeks" tax. Apple-fanboy-return-fire-barrier-activated.

I can see where you drew that conclusion, but I have a PC, lol.

And I tried both x6blues and the one on the modmyifone site, so I have no idea where I got the extra stuff from.

EDIT: Alright, I just deleted them all and it works!

Thanks for the app, and thanks for the help
