Here is the link to the 1.1.1 firmware so you don't have to download it threw itunes. Read the Readme.txt. If you have any problems let me know.

That one doesn't have the signatures; and so I don't know if it'll work with restoring (devs are using it to attempt to decrypt, yes; but for restoring, I don't know). Also, Apple may at any time rename/move it from there; AND at the next firmware release, they may even delete it, so an external backup is definetly better.

Can someone please confirm whether or not the above Apple Link contains the signatures or not?

If not, does anyone have a version which I know can restore my touch in case anything happens in the future?

    Thanks

I used that link to download the iPod1,1_1.1_3A101a_Restore file.

Put it in the proper directory. Clicked Shift + Restore in iTunes and it restored perfect. I first thought I'll probably get the same restore file by downloading it from iTunes, but i saw the the one i was downloading was 3a110a or something. So, I went with the file which I prev downloaded.

    Just a heads up.

Update : I also downloaded the slightly new firmware than the link given above ... I don't know how to get that link direct from apple's site. I restored using that one too and works fine.
