Hi. First post. I am a sound engineer and bought my ipod touch 2 days ago primarily for 2 reasons, to play music through my PA rig and to record audio (line in/analog) occasionally. I tried recording some simple stuff last night and it seems as if I need a special connector- probably one with an apple on it- to go into the 1/8 inch jack. ($) I looked in the apple store and there doesn't seem to be anything I can use to record a stereo signal into the unit. As far as apps, all that I have is VOICE RECORDER. Can I go through the 1/8 jack? or do I go through the milti pin connector? If I can't figure out how to perform this function, it will have been a total waste of money.

My last (and first) mp3 player was a One gig iRiver. And as cheap and basic as it is, it still could record a line in/stereo signal.

    Thoughts?

(PS: I am computer savvy, but old school....)
