So when Apple comes out with 4.2 for the iPhone 4, my current jailbreak with be patched?
Yes, like it usually is.
-.- I thought limera1n and greenposi0n were both pwn4lifed
It doesn't mean the jailbreak stays after restoring, you'll have to rejailbreak.
Unless they made some sort of Apple-resistant Superbreak.
It is pwnd4life, but greenpois0n/limera1n will need to be updated to actually support 4.2 before it'll work.
It is pwned4life, the jailbreak tool still needs to be adjusted for the new firmware, but that doesn't take very long at all.
^^^ What he said
I think he means, can we still update and jailbreak afterwards?
the answer is yes, and no. Initially, even though the bootrom exploit exists, the jailbreak community still has to make the jailbreak compatible with the new firmware. it's just that your device no longer needs countless hours of work to find exploits each time a new update arrives.
What they said.
Gotcha. Thanks guys.
If pwnd4life = jailbreak stays after restore; NO JAILBREAKS are pwnd4life. ALL jailbreaks are broken after restore/upgrades.
Back on topic: Yeah, thanks for making this thread, all the new ones have me confused for a sec, I was going to say, I could've sworn LimeRa1n and GreenPois0n both used SHatter.
4.2 will be tethered.
