The limera1n/greenpois0n jailbreak does some modification on hardware? or just exploits the iOS 4.1 vulnerabilities to install itself?

i am afraid i have traces of limera1n after going back to stock and /or modified my hardware forever as limera1n/greenpois0n claims

It doesn't modify hardware. It's completely reversible with restore. Updating iOS does remove it but leaves traces of it which uses up free space (I may be wrong I read that somewhere

Every device (iPod touch 2g and newer, and iPhone 3G and newer) is supported. 2g touch (that's also the 3G 8gb) doesn't get printing, that may change in final 4.2

Remember that it's likely that 4.2 will be iPad exclusive.

It can be completely removed with a DFU restore, not a normal restore.

I turned off ipod then turned it on by pressing power + home button at the same time for a while, then released power. Is that a DFU restore? please confirm because most manuals confuse me.

Note: iTunes said: "found a device in recovery mode"

    thanks in advance!

iOS4.2 is for iPod touch 2g/3g/4g and iPhone 3G/3GS/4 and iPad. It is first iOS 4 release for iPad

Yes. There are betas for ipt2/3/4g and iphones. I have the iPod touch 2G 4.2 beta, pretty cool.

I think he meant firmware, which is software but at the lowest level.
