I still don't get it. What will be the difference between Greenpois0n and limeRa1n if Greenpois0n decides to go Limera1ns exploit? Will they merge?

If gp uses geohots exploit, it will basically offer the same jailbreak, but gP will have a much cleaner GUI, possibly have boot logo support, and generally will probably have better support.

Then wouldn't that like run GeoHot out of buisness? Then why would he reveal such an exploit to the CDT?

Straight from the limera1n website: "released today to get chronicdev to do the right thing" dumb, maybe...effective, definitely. Shatter will now be held for a later jailbreak.

@johnbelden - in order to get custom boot logos, it needs to be also untethered at the bootrom level (neither limera1n nor SHAtter are)

How could he release limera1n without revealing the exploit?

Im confused by this statement though...Didn't 24kpwn start as a tethered bootrom exploit? Yet it gets them...

wrong, it will not have a custom bootrom support because that requires 2 exploits. One bootrom and one userland within the bootrom. There not going to waste a userland for this. If anything they will wait till the new devices come out in Spring.

If the bootrom exploit is untethered, and they end up using a userland exploit to boot it, doesnt that kinda defeat the purpose? I mean why not just keep both bootrom exploits, and just jailbreak each firmware?

i dunno either, I was only waiting for GP for potential boot logo modding, but if that's the case then I dunno why I'm waiting
