But free? I took a look at biteSMS and.. Woah. It blew me out of the sky. That looks absolutely amazing. but, being myself I didn't get a texting plan with my cell service and the only other option is to buy there credits.. Well my parents do NOT like giving out credit card info for any reason on the internet period. So.. That leaves me with 1 option.. Well 2 but the whole Visa Gift card is for my xbox live..

Free program, like biteSMS. I'm not saying it needs everything, Just landscape and can send free texts. I don't really care about ads either..

    EDIT

And an actual number.. Not a 205065 like AIM does... Like a full phone number.. 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX. It can even be an app from the appstore. Paid or free as long as I'm not paying per text or buying credits or anything.

I use Google Voice and set up GVMax. It send all SMS i receive to my GTalk account. Then I just downloaded Meebo, my favorite IM app on the iPhone.

I'm not sure if it only works in the us, but spend like maybe a total of $15 for invites or less and you can make, send, receive unlimited calls and texts without the $150 cell phone plans I currently have which I can now get rid of

You need to have a US number in order to register.
