light leaking from the right hand side of my ipod touch 3g.

    hi i got my ipod touch 3g 32gb the other week and i have just noticed that there is light getting through the side of my ipod i have called apple and they said they will send it of to be repaired
    but i dont want to do that because i have only had it for about 3-4 weeks. so i was wondering if there is a way i can fix it myself please help me.

    (thats not my ipod but that is what mine looks like)

    also i have been told that dust can get in were the light is leaking is this true?

    Well since there is an opening, dust can get into the device!

    I'd get it replaced. I had my 3G for a week and I had to get it replaced. I know the feeling, but it's what's best so you can continue to have your warranty.

    i might just leave it the main thing that worries me is that dust might get in thats the reason i want to get it sorted but apple willl only take it of to be repaired and i dont want that because it will take about 3 weeks.

    im not sure if the dust is in the screen or if its behind the screen protector and i have also got a protective case on it.

    Dust can still slip in. And it only took me a week to get my iPod back. But it's your call. If you don't want to send it, get a different case. The case I have would cover it up if I had that problem.
