In case you didn't catch it (and it's fate suggests that most of you didn't), there was a great show on ABC the past couple of months called Life on Mars. I myself missed out on it while it was running, except that it was on after Lost so I ended up watching the first 10 minutes of each episode. Over break I decided to watch all 17 episodes that were made (the show was canceled due to lack of viewership), and am really sad over the loss of such an excellent show.

Basically, it's about a 2008 cop who gets hit by a car and finds himself on 1973, and is trying to find his way back. It manages to wrap a police procedural/ time travel/ and just general mindf**kedness into one show.

Luckily, it was adapted from a British series, so I'm gonna go watch that and hope that it's just as good (or better) than than the American version. Also, unlike many shows luckily the writers had enough time in advance to satisfyingly tie together the plot.

Anybody else watch this great show? (if you have the time watch it, you won't regret it)

It's unnerving watching the same show, same filming style, and same music yet different actors.

Why couldn't they just use the show already made and just broadcast it.. *sigh*

I dunno. Usually I'm all for the British versions of shows but I just enjoyed the American one more. Yeah, I'm watching the first series now, then I'll move onto that one.

They need to Americanize the references and change it to fit more with American TV.

I think they should have just left it as British

I don't make a point to watch very many shows (How I met your mother and Reaper pretty much sums it up..oh and Southland now)

But i watched this show from the beginning. My wife warned me not to, b/c everything i like ends up getting cancelled. There was this really cheesy show on a few years ago called "life as we know it" or something similar. I caught the pilot and fell in love with this girl Missy Peregrym on there. Sure enough it was cancelled, as was Sons of Anarchy and Big Shots... there are more (Family Guy has been the only one to come back)...

anyway, i really liked Life on Mars.
