    yea
so I installed libusb because I needed to rejb my ipod
    I did it.

then i noticed that my computer would like 2-3 times longer to boot than before

    so i uninstalled libusb
but i still have the slow boot issue

and no, i haven't installed anything after the installation of libusb, so I really thought/know libusb was the problem

    what do I do?

    It's probably not libusb?
    Try a virus scan.

Libusb affects NOTHING! It's just a library!

Well, if it doesn't affect anything, care to explain why my computer randomly CUTS it's power when i've got libUSB installed... ^^ and it's NOT compatible with vista. how come if it's "just a library, which doesn't affect ANYTHING"? To the OP. I don't know a solution, i'm afraid. My computer still randomly shuts off, and it's not because of the heat, and it started RIGHT AFTER the install of libUSB. I do virus scans all the time , and NEVER open suspect files. Dunno how to fix it. I'm runnin' Vista, btw.

ensure that you are running vista 32bit and that when you installed libusb you installed it in compatability for windows xp sp2 and ran as administrater, if you did not do either of these completely uninstall libusb and try again properly.

if you are running vista 64bit go here http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148985&highlight=vista+64bit for help.

to check if you are running vista 32 or 64bit go to control panel(home) go to system and maintenance and then system, under the system header of this page it will say 32 or 64bit (last one in list under header on my system)
