iPhoneLinux was started back in October, by The iPhoneDevTeam, originally this was proof of concept and still is.

So far, nobody has attempted to bring the topic back into the limelight. I wish to do so.

I think we should follow the roadmap of The iPhoneDevTeam. Anyone in?

I don't think you can find someone here... just look on other topics in iPhone linux section, most people here are not even beyond Ubuntu (...and it's distro don't even show what Linux truly is, its made for... sorry to say ...Linux noobs). Besides this needs digital electronic knowledge to make drivers, in other words you need "Dev Team class" programmers

I would, if you could work in a team that is.

I know Ubuntu is way to easy but this development of their's on the ARM Architecture looks promising to start as a base maybe.

Yanno use bits and pieces of it as Ubuntu is Freeware?

Android would be a better choice.
Sucks the dev team left this, with nothing really to work off.

It is not abandoned yet just moving slowly. Most people don't know this but there was a update just under 3 weeks ago when Planetbeing added a new developer Marcan who can make changes to the source files on github. Marcan made 6 commits at that time.

I think that Linux on the iPod (screw Ubuntu) would be nice, but I do question its usability. Afterall, why would a normal (key word here, folks) install Linux (with, unless you want it a lot more touch friendly, pretty bad interface, compared to iPhone OS) when you already have the iPhone OS.

Now, that isn't to say I'm not for this (I'd jump on in a second, if it was fully working) but there are some questions to be answered, and I can understand why the Dev Team is very slowly doing this, because the demand is, right now, for jailbreaking tools. Not linux. Rally more demand, and they may start working more on Linux.
