I'm going on a trip to Canada for 5 days from the US, and I know that every call and text that I use will cost me more money without an international plan.

Is there a way I can stop incoming calls/texts so that I can still use the maps on my phone and use wifi? I was guessing I could use airplane mode but I figured that wouldn't allow wifi. Are there any alternatives to being able to use data or texting without a heavy fee? Thanks

Tell people not to call or text you could work. You could I guess turn it to Airplane mode and turn it off when you need wifi.

On the iPhone, you can have airplane mode on and have Wifi on. Its for those wifi enabled airplanes

Just like m0in said. You can have airplane mode and wifi on. Otherwise you can jailbreak and unlock if you are on BB 5.11. Once in canada buy a prepaid sim and you wont be charged extra
