K, So everyone knows that we have the jailbreak as tethered, obviously.. which is kind of lame but I want to know of how everyone is dealing with it..

Do you guys leave your devices switched on all the time but just press the top button so that the screen goes off when your not using it?

Is that safe? Like, will it decrease the lifespan of the device?

Basically, I'm planning on leaving my device on all the time & when I need to turn it off, I will tap the top button in order to shut off the screen.. is that fine?

It'll definately get annoying if I have to keep reconnecting the device to the PC everytime I need it jailbreak enabled.. so this is the only solution I have until we have GreenPois0n

Just don't let the battery die down to a zero.

It will drain the battery in 'standby mode' but slowly. Most convenient is to leave it on charge overnight and that will give you a full day of use. However in standby mode with limited use a charge can last for weeks.

For other battery related tips see the Battery link in my sig.

I accidentally left my 3rd Gen on standby for 3 weeks and still had 75% battery. It's fine to leave your iPod on standby.
