I remember once while trying out a tutorial using a function which made a custom shape out of the pixels in a layer. usually I've been selecting the pixels, making a path, and turning that into a custom shape. but the problem is that the path was never as perfect as the selection. its like the computer was just free-hand tracing the shape I wanted to give me a pretty-close shape. but with this other tool it made a shape that was the EXACT shape of the selected layer, no matter how big it became. can anyone tell me where to find this pixel again?

yeah thats still the best option, but even that isnt perfect. or if it it, it takes a lot of time. which is fine. but if theres a way to do it a lot faster, it makes for more productive work.
