Someone explain what the hell is going on. Thursday morning, I'm downloadings apps, watching youtube on ipod. I get home from school, doesn't connect. I've done NOTHING to the settings. Laptop connects to wifi, NDS, IPAQ, No ipod. We've NEVER changed anything to the network. It just randomly died. So i reset the network connections. Heres what the ipod does.

    IP Address 169.254.150.0
    Subnet mask 255.255.0.0
    rest - Blank.

So i said wtf. Reformated to NON-JAIL. Same thing.

    Laptop says:
    IP address: 192.168.1.106
    Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
    Router: 192.168.1.1
    Dns: 192.168.1.1 or 68.87.77.103 and 4 others.

What the hell could cause this? I fully restored it and told ipod to connect, saids 3 bars, and nothing works online. All my computers do, my laptop does, my NDS, Ipaq. NOT IPOD!!!!!!!!!!! *dies*

Yes. I tryed static IP copying my laptop data, and the Sticky help with wifi data. fail.
    And at friends house, works.

well first of all, dont post your ip address on the internet, second, does your wifi need a password?

you might have to get that.

It's pass word and its correct. Thats why it is able to give me A ip address. FYI. THAT IS NOT EVEN MY ADDRESS. my addresses DO NOOOT start with 169 or anything. That is like a random sh*t address that I've never even seen. Just like the sticky, my IP SHOULD be 192.168.1.0-100

Copy from the sticky, thats what it SHOULD say. Just 0-100 instead of 103. Mine, is miles off.
My router is even SET to ONLY give out 192.168.1.0-100, this weird 169... isnt even valid.

You'd think that that would be the first thing you'd check.

LOL fail, he is posting an IP from a private range.

90% of home networks will be using a 192.x.x.x/24

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) has reserved the following three blocks of the IP address space for private internets (local networks):

    10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
    172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
    192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Also, IP addresses in the range of 169.254.0.0 -169.254.255.255 are reserved for Automatic Private IP Addressing.
