Hey guys my Jailbroken Ipod Touch 2g started lagging about 1 month ago, and now when I open apps and close apps the animation lags a little. I tried one of those memory cleaning tools and I usually have about 30 mb of ram but it still lags when I open applications. Now I am thinking of trying the speed up by removing unnecessary launch daemons. Tell me what you think could also solve this annoying lag and thanks alot for the help.

Did you enable 2G iPod multitasking?

Disable the Multitasking and delete these "memory tools", your iPod knows how to handle its memory, such tools only damage it.

Ok I currently am running software 3.1.3 and will be sure to delete the memory tools. Anything else I can do to stop the lag?

Upgrade to 4.0, it's optimized to be faster. I have the same iPod and have no lag whatsoever on 4.0

If you think you need more memory, then how about trying virtual memory?
Oh, first you need to have your ipod jailbreaked.
virtual memory seems to use some of the storage space in exchange for increasing memory.

When telling people to do something you should tell them the risks, virtual memory is harmful because it makes a swap file on the flash memory which has lower read/write cycles then ram, so using it as ram will ruin the flash memory faster.
