I saw this program for the mac that is capable of locating, then hacking WEP keys in a matter of seconds. I was wondering if the hacking community could get this thing to work for normal users on the iPod touch. It also allows you to have a map view of all the wireless networks around. Please help me out on this one. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wants free hotspots when they shud b paid at school or anywhere.

Everyone will use brcause they forgot their wep keys for the networks they own. Dur..

Jokes aside I think this could work. iPoT runs a small mac os and therefore should be easily portable to the touch if you know how to I guess.

Not that this forum agrees with WiFi cracking but it has already been discussed here.

ok... maybe not necessarily cracking the we keys but what about a hidden ssid sniffer that displays the ssid's? if they're already open then its not so illegal is it?

Well the iPod's CPU probably isn't powerful enough to decrypt a wep key in under 60 seconds.
And anyone who is dumb enough to still use wep deserves getting piggy backed.
