Since I upgraded to 1.1.3, I've been doing a lot of experimenting that requires respringing. Rebooting wasn't really all that great for me, as there were times I didn't want to kill off WiFi (just in case). Plust, who wants to wait that long. Forcing Customize to respring for me just got tedious. So, I created my own.

kilBoard. Download it through Installer now. This should work well on all JailBroken firmwares. All you do is tap the icon, the loading gear will pop up, and a few seconds later, you're resprung. That's it.

Enjoy, all you iPod Experimenters, I think you'll find this app as useful as I will.

EDITED: I edited this to upload the application. SSH it into your /Applications directory or use terminal to set the permissions to 4755.
    /bin/chmod 4755 /Applications/killBoard.app/killBoard

Hmmm... It doesn't seem to work for me. I run it and i see is a black screen with "Die springboard, Die!" in the middle, but nothing happens. I'm running it on my jailbroken 1.1.3 iPod Touch.

Actually, that is interesting. I have no idea why it wouldn't be working. That text was actually in there for the creating process, when I need to see if it was working or not; and no matter what I did, this, it worked every time.

It is a basic call to kill com.apple.springboard, no more, no less. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be working for you.

I have two questions for those who don't have a working version of this: what firmware are you on; and will Customize kill SpringBoard for you after you try installing something?

hmmm... it worked fine for me when i used the nate true jb.
now that i've switched over to the dev jb though no icon shows up after install.
when i ssh the files are there... so i don't know why it's not showing up.
