How about when someone tries to post in a thread that is over a certain age, a message pops up saying, "The last post in this thread was made [long long time] ago. There is most likely no reason for you to be posting in this thread. If you do choose to continue posting, please be sure that your post adds value to the original thread, and may be helpful to others in the future."

    Or something.

well than stop telling people to search... when they search they find archeaic threads... and they then post questions/ statements on thier new findings.. so either bumped threads... or no telling people to search...

Yeah, this won't work when you have people telling the new users to search. They contradict each other.

well tell them to search.. and help them outby pointing them to the less arvhaic threads... by giving them links.. it will reduce the... "spam... and bumping"

nikada, both bumping old *dead* threads (where the OP has probably moved on and so has the discussion) and starting new idiotic ones is a waste of everybody's time.

Also, I'd put some clothes on that naked man bending over in your avatar

aww man would you just stop it with the naked man?
and also what do you sugest the noobs should do? you tell'em to search and yet you flame him for bumpin. He posts a new thread but you tell him to search. Hows that for logic? And does it realy bother you when someone bumps a thread? if so why?

It really doesn't matter if they bump, if you don't like it don't read it. Duh
