I've seen many tips to try to do this but it doesn't seem like they are what I'm looking for. I want to update my Ipod touch to 3.1 and jailbreak it. Therefore I will have to restore it but I don't want to lose any of my apps save games for example my high scores in wild west pinball. Is there any way to keep them. Can I backup my touch with the firmware I have now and restore all the stuff when I upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can keep your jailbreak stuff with an app called AptBackup which you can find on Cydia, but it doesnt keep your game saves, although, and for our luck, theres another app
called AppBackup, and this one does backup appstore apps !!!!!!

A backup usually saves the state of all your Appstore apps, such as levels, unlocks, scores, etc.

For jailbroken apps try AptBack or PkgBackup(not free).
