iOS 4.1 keep a jailbreak?

    would it be possible to edit the firmware to update to 4.1, but keep some stuff? like jailbreak?

    even without the exploit, would we be able to mod the firmware to not erase everything?

    Nope. It's impossible. You can create a custom firmware on devices that are pwned4life, but that's only because the kernel isn't checked during boot. Since there's no available bottom exploit, it's not possible on the 3G and 4G devices.
