hey everyone. a friend of mine gave me his 2g 8gb ipod touch to fix. The ipod connects to itunes and even makes the little noise when i do so. but the screen does not turn no, it remains black. so then i tried to slide unlock it but even that didn't work. so im think the problem is that the digitizer and lcd are broken. this i really od considering the ipod is in really good shape. the screen has 1 or 2 minor scratches and and the lcd appears to be perfect. usually things just dont go like that.

Are you sure its not just in DFU mode? Does it pop up saying its in recovery mode or does it just look like a regular iPod in iTunes

Sounds like the digitizer is broke.

Yea it shows up in itunes just fine. DFU mode was my first guess but it turns out it isn't. and i find it odd that teh digitizer and lcd both broke but from what i can see neither show signs of physical damage.

A sound wouldn't play when you connect it to iTunes if it was in DFU mode, either.

So my guess is still the digitizer.
