    Right -

2nd Gen 8GB iPod Touch, on Version 3.1.2. I use Linux Ubuntu, but will be using a Windows OS to do the JBing.

I plug in my iPod with it turned on, backup all my stuff onto iTunes, open up BlackRa1n, close iTunes, click the big button, then just leave it?

    Have I missed anything there?

What exactly do I do if everything breaks, by the way?

Just open iTunes, and click the massive 'Restore' button?

Thanks a lot for any help, much appreciated!

    Cheers for reply.

Is there any particular advantage of Spirit over BlackRa1n?

Just I pretty much understand BR now, don't particularly want to have to watch another 50000 videos to understand another one if there's no advantages!

    Cheers

It's the same as Blackra1n but faster. You just click a button and jailbroken!

the newer modle ipod touches have a new boot rom(september 2009-the 3G lauched)as well as the 3G ipod and 3Gs this requires a newer jailbreak = spirit.
