    Hi everyone,

If I go to O2 tomorrow and pick up a new iPhone 3GS will I be able to jail break it? I heard that there is a new version of the 3GS that is not jailbreakable, is this true?

    Thanks

The new bootrom is not jailbreakable yet. Apple refreshed it a few weeks ago, so all you can do is hope for an old one.

ok thanks. Do we have any idea how long it might take for the Dev team or someone to find a way to make it work? Am I better waiting till after Christmas and seeing what prices other networks have it at...

It should be unless it had been updated to 3.1 and then downgraded. If you can play with the iPhone check the modem firmware (aka baseband) under Settings > General > About. If it is 4.26.08 you are good and it is unlockable. The only other baseband the 3GS might be on is 05.11.07 that one is not unlockable.
