If I decide to buy an iPhone 4, will I be able to upgrade to iPhone 5 next year straight away? I will be using o2 pre pay.

Who said there will be an iPhone 5?

If there is, I doubt you'll be able to upgrade in one year with a pre-paid plan.

Yup, for full price which I believe is 800$ for the 32gb. In other words, no, you won't get an upgrade at a discount.

What about bill-pay plan? And why does it say that " 3 out of 4 people who bought their iPhone 4s upgraded to it "
Can I not upgrade and iPhone 4 to
5 when it comes out next year, if it does?

I believe it's because AT&T offered early upgrade.
