I'm excited to have it, but I can't use it yet. It's a bit chilly here and the Touch was cold. Just holding it made the silvery back fog up. So I haven't turned it on (if it even has any charge) or started charging it yet.

I'm concerned that the heat will cause condensation (as my hand did) on the inside and possible damage it. Am I being overly paranoid?

My question is: How long should I wait to charge or turn it on?

Can't wait to play with it!

Yeah, you're being overly paranoid. That's normal though, especially when you get something new.

If you're really worried about it, just give it a few minutes to heat up. If you're not worried and/or anxious, plug it in. I would probably just plug it in.

If you're still worried about it like crazy you can do what I do with my camera after a cold day of shooting when I need to warm it back up - put it in a plastic bag, and shut it. Nothing will condense on it, if it's decently sealed.

When all is said and done though, you're probably fine just plugging it right in.

In my excitement I forgot I was hungry. So I ate first and then plugged it in about an hour later. Everything's fine. Got it on WiFi, downloaded a few free apps, now I'm playing with photos, music, and soon video.

    He's got a 2G.
OP: Satisfy yourself with the Appstore. Jailbreak when it is released for endless possibilities. Wait in jealousy in the meantime.
