Q: My iPod crashed! What do I do?
A: First, try holding down the home button for a few seconds. If nothing happens, force restart by holding down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for a few seconds. If that fails, force restore. But not before restarting it. Remember, the iPod touch cannot be bricked.

Surely thats not true people coming on here every day saying their ipod touch is bricked.

Or if those don't work, hold the home button while plugging the USB plug into it, and it will put it in recovery mode.

    Saying that its bricked.
There has never been an official case where an ipod has been bricked.
Besides if that is a quote from another thread he is telling him how to force restore wrong.

Yeah pretty much, unless you drop it in water or throw it off a cliff.

in that case its not bricked its broken. You cant restore anything, not even a book that you drop in water.
