    Hi guys,

2G 16Gb iPod Touch, 2.2.1 jailbroken. Basically I want to start over and go to 3.0 jailbroken. I don't have that many Cydia apps on there, and to be honest I'd rather start from fresh.

Could somebody please just confirm that this is the right way to go about things:

    1. Format iPod (iPod -> Settings -> General -> Reset - > Reset all data and settings)

    2. Upgrade to official 3.0 via iTunes

    3. Follow instructions in this thread to jailbreak 3.0

Right? Just want to make sure I'm not doing it the retarded way...

Just go into iTunes, click Restore. Should restore to 2.2.1 If you want to get 3.0 the legal way, once it's done restoring, just click Update in your iTunes and then go on with the Jailbreaking process.

I think I may do the full reset anyway; from reading around these forums it seems that some are having problems with Cydia apps and the like after restoring. Even if it's just for peace of mind.

Thanks again for the tip. Looking forward to joining the rest of you on jailbroken 3.0...
