Just purchased a 64 gig, 3rd gen ipod touch, and waiting for it to be delivered, first thing I will do is jailbreak the device and i'm quite well read on how to go about acheiving this. my question and it will probably cause a few of you learned fellows to facepalm because this is being asked but here goes anyway.

I have never used a ipod touch before just upgrading as my 40 gig click wheel died last week

I will use it for commuting to and from work does this mean everytime I need to switch it back on for the homeward journey I need to tether it and "make it rain" or is there a sleep mode I can enable that would mean it doesn't need to be re-tethered and "make it rain"?

also is it possible to run the blackra1n app from a portable flash drive?
do you also need itunes on the computer that you tether and make it rain on to re-jailbreak it on

    1. You can "Lock" your iPod so it won't use a lot of electricity. You don't have to jailbreak again to wake your iPod from this mode (only from a real poweroff).
    2. I think you can run blackra1n off a flash drive.
    3. You need iTunes on the computer to use blackra1n. Blackra1n uses some library's from iTunes i think

    btw.

Congratz with your iPod. I hope it will arrive soon.

    No problem

If you have any more questions, ask them. Now let the waiting begin. It's so fantastic to unbox your new, shiny, brand new, iPod touch!

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to talk about that stuff but most people jailbreak their iPod especially for that reason.

Yaujta have you thought of any screenprotectors and cases?
