I already have a thread on this, but anyway, I'm looking for a good case myself. I already have a ghetto rigged 1g case on my 2g, and I'm using that until I decide between the IS or the Rebel Touch. I want the IS because I don't want to clunk up my 2g since the aesthetic appeal is nice. BUT I've heard bad things about the IS. Same with the Rebel Touch, it seems the pros equal the cons. Idk, I'm more than likely getting the Rebel Touch.

i love it, i had it, i needed to take it off to put this hard case on, and then within a day it was scratched.

    karma much....

but it works very very well, but it took off the nice smoothness of my 3g, not that big of a deal tho, and the screen protector has a very different texture that you may need to get used to, but its very nice and well worth it for the protection.

i would get the rebel touch if they had one for 1st g ipod touch, it looks cool.

more impact protection: rebel > IS
more scratch proof with less bulk: rebel < IS

i already use kinda a hard plastic screen cover under my silicon case(Which i can put over IS

and it kinda has a different textur than ipod touch screen

i would just use the invisible shield with a silicone case... unless you can find a good hardcase that isnt too tight, just make sure you dont just ask the sales clerk, but actually try the case on.

i already hhave dropped the ipod several times in the extreme mac case and nothing has happened to it.

only thing i don't like about the invisible shield is that it creates much more friction on the screen.

make sure no dust gets in the film while you're applying it... Happened to me once

I love my IS in every way. It protects from scratches but not drops. Luckily I handle it with care. The orange peel texture doesn't bother me at all. It actually makes it look cooler. Easily to clean from smudges.

But.. after 9 months of use, the corners on the front started to peel. I'm in need for a replacement soon. Good thing it's lifetime.
