Why is there DRM on FREE apps?
If it is free then what are you stopping by adding DRM to it, is anyone really going to rip a FREE app?

You could rip the free app and replace the files within that, to a paid one.

Nicely Said. Also if the developer wants to change the price of the app, people won't be leaking the free version.

Not if he adds more features on the application than there were originally.

Example is MobileChat...they will charge for large upgrades (as in require you to pay again).
