just a question about bricking

    ok so i saw this video

    and read the comments and looked around on here and it seems like lodsa people have trashed their ipods using winpwn is it easy to trash or actualy quiet difficult i have the ipod 1.1.4 firmware downloaded so is it easy winpwn or not?

    winpwn doesnt really brick, no ipod or iphone has been bricked. i dont recommend winpwn cause it creates ramdisk and messes with your bootloader which can be very risky and its not really a jailbreak it just modifies your ipod and your firmware, a jb doesnt modify it "breaks in" so THEN it can modify

    i think WinPWN is for more "advanced" users, in a way.

    but there are some great tutorials out there, and i never had any problems, so....

    i know about jailbreaking and currently have my ipod jailbroke but i want to install the custom screens when it boots up.... lol

    WINPWN isnt really for advanced users, unless you consider clicking 3 buttons advanced these days. Just follow the guide in the WINPWN section and you cant mess up. It's worked every time for me...

    I think following the guide is going to be the key. I haven't used it yet, as I have not needed to restore.
