Has this been done so far?
Uh, yeah. Downgrade to 3.0, jailbreak with redsn0w, then restore to a custom 3.1 firmware made with a Mac.
Use iREB instead. it's easier. it bypasses 16** errors so that you can just restore to a custom 3.1 jailbroken firmware. You need the custom firmware though. you can find it on ******* sites.
I tried iReb, but didn't really work. I got the error message. How do I use it?
Just press shift and click restore when your iPhone is connected to your computer. The iPhone doesn't even have to be in DFU mode.
