    Yes jailbreaking is fully safe, you can not brick your ipod with it. Tethered means you have to plug your ipod into your computer to boot it and untethered means you dont.

    you cant brick an ipod, dev team tryed and they couldn't.
    Use redsn0w 0.3 its untethered and all you have to do its put your ipod in DFU Mode and click the .exe

    unless youre talking about physically damaging it, you cant brick it with software... it'll always DFU.
