I dunno if anyone else find this true, but after I JBed my iPod touch 2G, it started getting really slow. Like, even with nothing running in the background, it is about as fast as it was before I restored it (JBed, pages of Apps, Backgrounder was used).

I was considering going back to 3.1.2, cause this JB is tethered, isn't it? And 3.1.2 was faster. Would that be better?

Tethered is just for the MC models, which hasn't been jailbroken yet.

I agree there's a small lag when I open apps but not noticable once running. iOS 4 is way better than 3.1.2 in my opinion

Yeah most people are getting this.
Follow this guide if you have Homescreen Wallpapers enabled (it sped things up for me): http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291693
Also, some of us have noticed that not enabling Homescreen Wallpapers when jailbreaking speeds things up (and you lose nothing since you can set your own wallpaper with Winterboard which was upgraded for 4.0 earlier).
    Hope this helps.
I forgot to add, if anyone mentions iMemoryEnhancer, try it at your own risk.
It worked for me on my first jailbreak, then messed everything up after and I had to DFU restore.

Would it still speed up if I disabled Wallpapers through the plist after I JB-ed it? I did the Icon Fix thing, speeds it up a bit, just wondering if I could speed it up some more.

Yes. You'd be surprised about how much Apple's version of Wallpapers slow your device down.

iMemory Enhancer works well for me in combination with SBSettings on my 2nd gen MB 8GB iPod touch so far, gives me more free memory (I've gotten up to 84MB free so far). I'd say it's worth the risk for making these older devices a bit faster on iOS 4.

Uh, no. Please, I hope you're kidding. That kills your iPod faster than it does now.
